i hate this message board...but love birmingham city...i wish there was only proper season ticket holder aloud on here or people who have had one in the passed, it would make so much more sense without stupid rubbish like this on here!!

FYI I am a season ticket holder and shareholder, so magically my post suddenly becomes valid now

Its still a stupid post, as the table stands we will be a dog fight to the end of the season, we are not going to be relegated in the next 3 games. So we will bring McF back to help secure our premiership status. To suggest that we will be relegated before he is fit is Just Stupid.
Derby is still in with a remote chance of staying up, if they win all the remaining games ;)
It will more than likely go to the last game or the penultimate game.
McF was brought to blues to help secure our premiership status.
McL has been saying this week, regardless if we go down he is in for the long run and is going to build a team that will make us a strong premiership team, he says that obviously he wants us to stay up and kick on next season, but if we should go down it would not change his plans for blues. Now in my mind that means the 2 players he has bought is part of those plans.

The bottom line is that if we go down then the better players will leave, thats fact not fiction,
if you think otherwise then you need to get the blue tinted specs of,
if you dont know how this board works by now then you never will.

I agree about if we go down, it will be intresting to see how McL handles the board,
but my main point was this post was "fantasy" and just silly really.

I don't think the sale of our better players should the club be relegated is as clear cut as some assume.

Mcleish has obviously discussed his plans with the board and stated his ambitions for the club, which i am guessing includes retaining the services of players like McFadden,Muamba,Larsson,Murphy. whatever lge we are in, he has stated he wants to build the club and move it forward. I think he will keep hold of the players he wants.....

Willie,
unless things have changed ,there is a system in place where players and staff have to take a pay cut if we get relegated,
that usually changes things .

That was contractual under Bruce. The pay-cut saga.

Plus a lot of "big" players did not want to play under Bruce and it was that coupled with their market value that saw the big exodus after relegation.

I would think that there are more players who would want to stay, with McCleish, this time around - so imo the pressure to sell would be less - especially if you consider the obscene parachute money this time around.

Having said that though, player's with International ambitions etc will need to consider their careers as much as their wages.

No, sorry, Beegee, you're still talking absolute rubbish.

Gold has no say on team selections and, even if he did, let's think about it.

a ) Save McFadden so you can cash in resigning yourself to the fact we're going down.
b ) Play your first choice striker in an attempt to avoid relegation therefore ensuring Premiership survival and consequently massive financial benefits to the club.

Mmmm....

Pathetic post.

... if we keep losing David Gold will not risk him getting injured so he can't be cashed in. His recovery from 'injury' will not happen until after the last game!

Ridiculous!!!!
